Camping at the Black Rock Rendezvous.
The camping area for the Rendezvous extends from the top
of Cassidy Mine Road approximately 1/3 of a mile down to the playa. There
will be porta potties in the upper area. The main area is at the bottom of
the road.
The views from the top of the road are fantastic,
although the terrain is a little bit rocky. There are several nice pullout
areas, some with fire rings, along the road down to the hummocks & playa.
Families with children may wish to camp near other families. There will be
greeters on site when you arrive to help direct you.

Upper Cassidy Mine, 2006.
Drive-in camping is prohibited in
the dunes, please respect the signs and regulations. Vehicles are allowed
to travel off of designated routes, within 50 feet, to camp. We will be there
to help guide you to a respectable spot.
Camping conditions in the region can be challenging, but
always rewarding if you come prepared. Be aware of dust storms, and temperature
fluctuations. Winds can sometimes
be a factor so be sure to bring extra long tent stakes or rebar to secure
your tent. Bring broad brimmed hats, bandanas, goggles and plenty of layers
to wear.

In the case of inclement weather
the show will still go on, however it MAY be best to enter from the Cassidy
Mine Rd side. Last year, when it was cold and raining in Reno, and SNOWING
in Tahoe, the playa was the place to be! We had just enough rain to make
it interesting and adventurous. USE CAUTION WHEN DRIVING ON THE PLAYA. IT
IS IMPASSIBLE WHEN WET. Stay on designated track roads as much as possible
to prevent driving into existing moist areas.

Don't let this happen to you!
